Nick, this came to mind when looking at some of your section studies.  Although these are plans, note the directed views that are achieved with the angled or stepped openings through the massive masonry walls of these castles.

Also, check out the essay "Field Conditions" by Stan Allen which you can access here.  It discusses the importance of objects in relationship to one another in terms of a broad field condition.



Serkalem,  this is the courtyard in Rome that I was talking about where false perspective is used in order to make a corridor that is actually 8 meters long appear 37 meters long.
